Your child and the Planet That Lost Its Ring

Suggested ages 6–8

Saturn's ring has scattered into a million icy pebbles and the planet is too shy to ask for help. Your child flies from pebble to pebble, gathering them with a net, and invites the passing comets to push the rest into place. Slowly the ring closes, and Saturn glows brighter than any planet in the sky.

Your child and the T-rex Who Wanted a Friend

Suggested ages 3–5

Every dinosaur in the valley runs when the T-rex stomps by, so he has nobody to play with. Your child notices he is not roaring at all, just sniffling. Instead of hiding, Your child rolls a giant fern ball across the mud and the T-rex nudges it back. By sunset the whole valley is playing catch with the biggest, gentlest dinosaur of all.

Story theme: Someone who looks scary may just be lonely

Your child and the Fossil Dig

Suggested ages 3–5

At the dusty dig site, everyone is racing to find the biggest bone. Your child finds only a small curved one and feels a bit silly. The scientist kneels and gasps: it is the missing piece of a baby dinosaur's tail that nobody could finish. Your child brushes it clean, slow and careful, and the little skeleton is whole at last.
