Solara heard a small cry from the courtyard and hurried toward it. A kite had tangled near the clothesline. She lifted her chin, touched the gold compass-star and announced, “Beacon team, ready!” Her short cape fluttered behind her. Then one corner caught on a soft line. Solara stopped. Her first rescue had become a cape problem.
