The friends had planned a treasure walk outside. Sofia brought the map. Kwame brought a red wristband for the team. Elio brought his breathing star and one enormous rain hat. Then the rain began. It tapped the window harder and harder. “The walk is cancelled,” Amina said. Elio’s hat slid over his eyes. Nobody spoke for a moment.
